James Smith

Menzies School of Health Research
Father Frank Flynn Fellow and Professor of Harm Minimisation
James is the Father Frank Flynn Fellow and Professor of Harm Minimisation at Menzies School of Health Research - with much of his work sitting at the health/education nexus. Previous to this role he was a 2017 Equity Fellow with the National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education, leading a project about 'strengthening evaluation in Indigenous higher education contexts in Australia'. He was also the Co-Lead of the Indigenous Leadership Research and Evaluation Network at Charles Darwin University. He has a deep interest in both Indigenous evaluation approaches; and participatory evaluation methods capable of examining cross-sectoral action on the social determinants of health.
