Suzanne Evas has been working broadly in the social services sector for over 25 years. She began her professional life as an allied health practitioner and program coordinator, working across clinical and community settings in the US and Canada. A PhD scholarship at the University of Newcastle brought her to Australia in 2001, where she has remained to work in academic, non-profit, and government organisations as a researcher, project manager, and policy officer. In 2006, she took a year long "working holiday", teaching English as a second language in Russia. Her particular expertise is in disability studies and brain injury community rehabilitation, but she also has experience and professional interests in volunteer tourism, higher education issues, eLearning, refugee/migration issues, film, music, arts, and internet/computer applications. She has been working in the Centre for Evaluation and Research in the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services since January 2018, where she has been involved in several evaluations of innovative out of home care programs for young people.
