Anna Gero is a climate change and disaster risk leader and specialist with over 10 years experience in the Asia-Pacific region. She is an experienced project manager, and has led climate change and disaster resilience consultancies, evaluations and research projects since 2008 across 10 Pacific Island Countries. With experience working with Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), The Pacific Community (SPC), UNDP, IIED, Plan International, Pacific governments and local NGOs in the Pacific, Anna has an applied understanding of the range of ways climate change and disasters influence development. Anna’s background in climate science underpins her experience working on projects with climate change and disaster implications relevant to humanitarian response; urbanisation and informal settlements; water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH); gender; aid effectiveness and forced migration and human mobility. She has published numerous research and evaluation outputs including 21 peer reviewed journal papers (11 as lead author), 15 research/project reports and working papers, three evaluation reports, five policy briefs and one book chapter.
