Academic Lead Aboriginal Health - Co-Lead Community Engagement
Lismore
I'm a Bundjalung woman, my family from Cabbage Tree Island/Ballina area Northern NSW. I have a role that works with Medical and Allied health Students when away from their home base universities to understand and work better with Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander peoples. I am passionate about challenging others (and myself) to identify bias, reflect on the reasons for this in order to ensure the lens they see their patients through are clear. I am currently working on completing an Mphil working in my community and others in Northern NSW around use and the provision of dose administration aids. I have also been working with Allen + Clarke in a community engagement role for the co-design of an evaluation of the Australian Government’s Investment in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care through the Indigenous Australians’ Health Programme.
