Professor of Evaluation and Education | Council member and Convenor of Professionalization subgroup of UK Evaluation Society
UK
I am a founder member of the United Kingdom Evaluation Society, a Council member since its inception and currently convenor of the Professionalization subgroup of the Society. This has four strands - Ethics, Evaluation Capabilities, Voluntary Evaluator Peer Review (VEPR) and Evaluation Training. I co-wrote the Society's Guidelines for Good Practice in Evaluation which we have recently revised, and the Framework for Evaluation Capabilities and am adviser to the Planning Group of VEPR which began in 2014 with a pilot in 2016. We have now had two rounds. I am also on the training subgroup and offer evaluation training. I would be happy to talk about any or all of these strands and how the field in general is developing its professionalization agenda.

But I would also be pleased to discuss my long standing interests in case study evaluation, democratic evaluation, programme and policy evaluation, institutional self-evaluation and my more recent and passionate interest in using the arts in evaluation data collection and reporting. This extends the democratic process in evaluation and help us get closer to representing diversity and the perspectives of those traditionally disenfranchised or marginalized in our society or hard to reach.
