I am Menka Goundan. I currently work as the Senior Program Manager at the Fiji Women's Fund. At the Fund, I manage grant administration and capacity support. I previously worked at the Fiji Women's Rights Movement as the Team Leader- Gender and Transitional Justice and prior to the as a Research Officer. I have also worked at the Pacific Centre for Peacebuilding as a Research Officer. I completed my Bachelor of Commerce degree in Management and Public Administration and Tourism Studies at the University of the South Pacific where I am also pursuing Post Graduate Diploma in Development Studies. I also have a Professional Certificate in Women's Peacebuilding Leadership from the Eastern Mennonite University, Harrisonburg, VA, US.
I am Fijian of Indian Descent and a human rights feminist activist based in Suva, Fiji. I am a former Secretary of the NGO Coalition on Human Rights in Fiji. In my short career of 7 years, I have done research in Gender and Peacebuilding Transistional Justice, Restorative Justice, Women's Economic Empowerment in Fiji, Women's Access to Justice in Fiji, Gender Gap in Fiji and the Pacific.
