Nerida Rixon

The University of Melbourne
Masters Student
Nerida is a Master of Evaluation (Research) student at The University of Melbourne. After knocking off her coursework in record time, Nerida took maternity leave to first worry/then enjoy hanging out with her son (now 2). She has been slowly but surely progressing her thesis since. Nerida has a keen interest in the critical inclusions of a theory of change for monitoring and evaluation in complex government settings.

Nerida has worked in the Australian and Victorian Governments since 2005 after a short-lived teaching career in WA and a stint travelling regional/remote Australia with the Questacon Science Circus.

Her public service career has included a range of experiences including work in New Delhi, for the Chief Scientist, for the former Aboriginal and Torres Trait Islander Higher Education Advisory Council, and on higher education reforms. More recently Nerida has worked in the Victorian Government Department of Education and Training in outcomes measurement and reporting, and is currently working at the Department of Premier and Cabinet in outcomes and evidence reform.
